LAPIERRE SPICY ZESTY X FLOW FROGGY 2012 SNEAK PEAK

For 2012 The New Lapierre Spicy and Zesty have been improved even futher!!

The New Zesty line up has thre carbon models and three Alluminium models. The Zesty also has a slacker head tube from 68 to 67. Weight has been shaved and shorter chainstays gives it a livelier ride.

The Spicy just like the Zesty both sees changes to the ost suspension platform with a better ratio curve Giving the bike a more suppleness at the begining of the stroke leading to improved grip, better gradual progresion through the stroke giving more support and better management at the end of the stroke.

The Spicy headangle also is slacker from 67 to 66. The Spicy becomes even more Enduro Friendly. All new 400g carbon Spicy frame is new to the range with Internall cable Routing and adjustable seatposts.

Just returned from the Lapierre 2011 top secret james bond style, no cameras aloud Launch show. We love the 2011 Lapierre bikes even more!!
The Spicy and Zesty range adopts the same OST Suspension platform from 2010.
The Spicy gets a modified riding position : less handlebar rize and 710mm width bars. A lighter Stiffer Frame on the Spicy 916, with an alloy supreme 6 front triangle and carbon rear.
All models have know moved to a tapered head tube giving extra strength where needed also 2011 Spicy models now have 12x142 rear axle for added stiffness.
Both the 516 and 916 gets a double chain ring with guard. something we have asked for the 2011 models.

The Zesty range also gets the tapered head tube and more hydro forming to the main triangle. Geometry remains the same as 2010 and despite the rumors the 2011 Zesty remains with the internal bottom bracket. We have more news on the zesty range after euro bike!

We are taken delivery of the range mid September £150 deposit secures the model.
Stock includes Zesty 214, 314, 514 & Spicy 216, 316, 516. Other 2011 models due September!

LAPIERRE FACTORY VISIT 2010 LAUNCH

We have just returned from Dijon, France where we were lucky enough to be invited to see the lapierre factory and pre launch of the 2010 Lapierre Cycles. The trip began with test rides on the new Lapierre , Spicy Zesty and X control (All of which exceeded expcetations) They then treated us to a tour of the biggest Wine makers in Dijon followed by a rather intensive wine tasting activity. Mr Lapierre himselff then took us to a 15 century restaurant for a five course meal which you guessed it! more wine. An early start the next morning was planned to visit the Lapierre Factory in Dijon. Expectation of the company mirrored the hospitally we reicieved of the weekend, These guys are truly a very proffesional company with everything down to the smallest of detail planned and executed to the highest of levell. Mr Lapierre himself is very much a part of the day to day running of the company, His passion still obvious in his brand whilst he talked through the running procedures of the company.

As you are all probably aware in this recent current financial climate product prices are continuously on the up. Bike giants such as Trek, Specialized, Scott & Whyte have all had considerable price increases this year making their prices very off putting for some customers.

CUBE Stereo 2009

The CUBE Stereo exceeded all expectations during the 2008 season. It was expected to be a big hit with mountain bike enthusiasts but knowone could predict how huge the Cube Stereo would become. 3 specification take control during the 2009 range those being Stereo R1 Carbon, Stereo The One and also Stereo K18. All of which weigh a very respectable 2.7kg. Each model comes complete with the award winning FOX RP23 rear shock and also Formula brakes. New Lapierre Spicy 916 & DH 2009 - WOW!!!

Lapierre have been busy developing their mountain bikes for 2009 which include a brand new downhill bike - the DH-920 which has been created in collaboration with Nicolas Vouilloz (ten times World downhill Champion and sixteen times World Cup winner) and the Lapierre downhill team.

The DH-920 downhill bike has been developed over two years by downhill maestro Nicolas Vouilloz, and the riders from Team Lapierre powered by Saab-Solomon. It’s a lighter (17.2kg), more robust offering than its predecessor and with new compact geometry, lower bottom bracket and componentry from the likes of Fox and Shimano, it’s set to open a few eyes on a downhill course near us soon. We have had alot of interest in this bike already and 2 people have already confirmed with us their intentions to get one - lucky them!!!!

Spicy 916

The top end Spicy (916) and Zesty (914) models have both shed weight through the addition of carbon rear ends. They’ve also both got carbon seatstays and chainstays, thus bringing their overall weight down even further. The Spicy 916 weighs in at 12.2kg and the Zesty 914 hits the scales at a mere 11.1kg.

Cube Peloton Bike Radar Review

The CUBE Peloton has recently been reviewed and has recieved a very well earned 4 1/2 stars by the guys at the award winning www.bikeradar.com the bike which is one of our main sellers in store has been praised by the best of the critics. "Cube’s Peloton will appeal to riders who value excitement and light components over long-ride comfort. It doesn’t hurt that it looks like a bike that costs a couple of hundred quid more either."

Ride & handling: Stiff & Lively
The Cube Peloton’s stiff and lively bias suits racers better than those who are looking for an easy ride in a sportive. Its taut handling and short wheelbase make the Peloton feel like it is more closely connected to the rider’s contact points than the others, and our experienced roadie testers liked this. This tendency to transmit every single nuance of the road surface through to the rider can be a hindrance though. To make things a bit more comfortable on long rides we’d recommend swapping out the 31.6mm seatpost for a USE converter shim and a narrower, slightly more flexible 27.2mm seatpost.

Frame/Chassis: big, beefy & classy-looking
The Peloton’s beefy frame will suit heavy, tall riders in particular and those who prefer a traditional, level top-tube. The Peloton shares the same frame as the Cube Aerial and while no bloater, its 1,675g frame is one of the heavier in this price range. There’s no carbon back end to drool over here, but the black, red and white livery plus choice wheels and kit make it look more expensive than other similarly-priced bikes. The frame is made from 7005 aluminium, has a butted down-tube and top-tube, and it’s all welded to Cube’s usual high standards. An attractive Deda (short for Dedacciai) motif on the Black Blade carbon/aluminium fork gives the bike a cool factor as it is rare to see a branded fork on a bike costing less than a grand. Cube has bucked the trend for compact and sloping frame geometry, preferring to remain true to a level top-tube. There are seven sizes right up to a huge 64cm, measured from the centre of the bottom bracket to the top of the seat-tube, and while there is no major cause for concern with the geometry, we selected a slightly longer than average stem for the 56cm version tested to compensate for a shorter than average (54.5cm) top-tube.

Equipment: weight-saving pick with triple versatility
The Peloton’s Ritchey finishing kit sets the standard for others to follow and the parts selection is lighter than on other similarly-priced bikes despite the triple chainset and 12-27 cassette.
The black anodised FSA Gossamer triple chainset co-ordinates well with the frame and the Ritchey Comp bars had our testers guessing the bike’s price tag a good few hundred pounds higher than it is. The bar tape is soft and pliable to the touch in much the same way as a tennis racket handle, though it looks like it’ll be hard to keep clean. The Scape Active Ergo 2 saddle is similar to a Fizik Arione and while it allows the rider to move around more than the others, it dips uncomfortably in the middle. The Cube’s combined weight of gears and ﬁnishing kit is decently light and could be made even lighter with a compact double chainset and associated components. Unfortunately this is not a factory option.

Wheels: Rare and great-looking Fulcrums, but not the lightest
The Fulcrum R7 wheels are the basement model from the Italian ﬁrm that was conceived by Campagnolo to compete with Shimano. As recently as 12 months ago we’ve seen them specced on bikes costing as much as £1249, but on bikes in this price range the the R7s are bettered by the lighter Shimano R500s and WH20 wheels.
The smooth-running cartridge bearing hubs are borrowed from the Campagnolo Mirage groupset and the graphics loosely resemble the hugely popular Mavic Ksyrium range.

CUBE 2009 Bikes were launched yesterday during the annual Eurobike Exhibition. All the bikes are now available for viewing on the CUBE website and will shortly be available to view and purchse www.thebicycledoctor.com

Their mountain range includes a wide selection of both Full Suspension and Hardtail, with sleek design and rock solid components. Every single detail has been looked at while designing this new range and boy have they exceeded expectations.

They have a full range of Road, Triathlon and X-Race bikes which we at The Bicycle Doctor predict to be massive sellers throughout the 2009 season. Other bikes in the raneg included Tour bikes, Women Specific Bikes (WLS) aswell as a complete Kids range of bikes.
